Aleppo soap is the oldest of all soaps, it is the ancestor of Marseille soap. It is a natural soap composed of very few ingredients: olive oil, laurel berry oil, water and soda. During saponification, glycerin is created from vegetable oils that you can find in your soap. Salt can also be found from the water used when washing soap dough after saponification.

Laurel berry oil is known for its purifying, astringent and disinfecting properties. Olive oil, on the other hand, moisturizes and nourishes the skin.

Aleppo soap can be used by the whole family, even babies. It is suitable for all skin types and especially for sensitive or problem skin (eczema or psoriasis for example). Indeed, Aleppo soap opens the pores and eliminates the sebum responsible for blackheads and pimples. Also, laurel berry oil has antiseptic properties and blocks the proliferation of acne-causing bacteria.

Aleppo soap can be used to wash the whole body. As a shampoo, it helps to combat dandruff. It can also be used as a shaving foam.

But also, Aleppo soap can be used to do your laundry, especially if you have sensitive skin:
In a bowl, pour 40 g of Aleppo soap into chips. Heat water and pour it into the bowl.Stir to dissolve the chips well and then add 20 g of soda crystals and 20 g of baking soda.Allow to cool, stirring from time to time. Your laundry is ready! Dose about 60 mL in a machine.

The color of the soap is between yellow and brown on the outside and emerald green on the inside. This difference in color comes from the fact that the surface of the soap oxidizes during drying.
To store your soap, leave it in a dry place. After use, dry it on an airy support like a loofah.
